A BRIEF HISTORY
In 1989, The Mystic Krewe of the Lords of Leather sponsored a
contest for Mr. New Orleans Leather. In 1993 the contest grew to
encompass the geographic area of the state by evolving into the
Mr. Louisiana Leather Contest. The title is nationally
recognized and acknowledged by the leather community worldwide.
The winner becomes eligible to compete in International Mr.
Leather (IML) held annually in Chicago.
CONTESTANT MEET AND GREET
Applications for contestants are accepted up until the start of
this function. It is 100% your responsibility that your
application has been received by the krewe if mailed or
delivered. Contact the contestant coordinator to verify.
If you're bringing it to the event be sure to have your
application completed and sponsorship monies in hand. The
Meet and Greet is your opportunity to meet the other contestants
but more importantly to meet each of the judges individually.
Make a point to locate the judges and personally introduce
yourself to them. If you don't know who the judges are, ask a
krewe member. They want to meet you as much as you NEED to meet
them. There's no points given for this function but first
impressions mean alot!
CONTESTANT INTERVIEWS
Interviews will last approximately 15 minutes per contestant.
Each
judge will ask questions to understand more about you and your
desire to become Mr. Louisiana Leather 2009. You may dress as
you wish for the interview. Water and soft drinks will be
provided. Lunch will also be served at the end of the
contestant’s interviews. This will afford contestants additional
interaction time with the judges.
